How do I get the program? (100%) Go to our software page and click on the download button for the program you want, or visit the individual product page for each program for localized versions or more options. Make sure you save the downloaded file with a .ZIP extension, and use an appropriate zipping program (WinZip or Unstuffit Deluxe) to open the .ZIP file. DO NOT USE Mac UnZippit, as it tends to mangle PalmOS-format files.
Thanks, that helped!
How do I open the ZIP file? (100%) Zip files are standard compressed data files that hold together many individual files in one compact package for fast downloading. You need to decompress the .ZIP file to get at all the little files inside before you can use them. Do this with a program like WinZip on the PC or Unstuffit Deluxe on the Macintosh, both of which are available on our site in the Software Page. DO NOT USE Mac Un-Zip-It, as it tends to mangle PalmOS-format files.
Thanks, that helped!
How do I install the program? (100%) Once you've download and unzipped the .Zip file WinZip or Unstuffit Deluxe, use the Palm Install Tool (in the Palm Desktop) to install the PalmOS-format .PRC and .PDB program and data files. On a PC, you can also double-click on 'TPInstall' to run our automated installer program. Do NOT use Mac Unzippit, as that has a tendency to trash Palm-format files.
Thanks, that helped!
The installer says the files are invalid, or the program crashes when I try to run it. (100%) The program may have been mangled during download, install, or unzip. Try downloading a fresh copy off our site. If you installed from a Mac and used Mac UnZippit, try Unstuffit Deluxe instead. Mac UnZippit tends to mangle PalmOS-format files. You can find Unstuffit Deluxe on our software page.
Thanks, that helped!
I am upgrading to a new version. How do I install it? (100%) Unless specifically instructed otherwise, you should install the new version of any app directly on top of the old without deleting the older version first. This is the best way to keep your data and settings where possible. For hacks or background apps (like TealEcho, TealGlance, TealMagnify, TealLaunch, TealMaster, TealLock, or TealScript) you must first deactivate the programs, turning off any background functionality (on/off state, global recognition, etc) before installing the new version or the new version will either fail to install or the device may crash.
Thanks, that helped!
